Traditionally the first day of winter steelhead fishing feels cold. So I wasn’t that surprised when I was shivering for most of the two hours I spent wading the Humber River this Saturday. Not getting any bites doesn’t help keep you warm either. Again, it’s that time of the year: you wake up one day just to realize that the weather has been pretty chilly for most of the week and that it is already mid-November.
